News & Events >> Amiouni targets the finish at ATCL [ 5-09-2012 ]

What is your target for this rally?

First we want to finish, as in 2010 and 2011 we didn’t. That does not mean that I will be strolling to the finish, I want to finish with the best possible position.

Will you compete with the Feghalis?

No it will be very difficult, they are on RRC.

You won your first ever Rally in Jordan, and you were close in the Summer Rally, do you think you gained maturity after this?

Of course, we are learning from every rally we are doing. At the beginning I was pushing without really thinking; now we are thinking strategy. So I am getting better rally after rally. I am learning a lot from Dado (Abdo Feghali) and Roger Feghali as well, just following the way they are driving is worth a lot.

What about the set-up in the stages? Will they vary from one loop to another?

We are still thinking with the team about the exact plan. We will see after the first loop in the night stages if everything is allright. If yes we will remain on the same strategy the whole weekend.

Are you worrying of one stage more than another?

No honestly, every stage has it tricky section. Blat has a slippery section, Sourat will be bumpy, it will be demanding for the car so every stage will have its issue.

What is your future plan?

Let us step by step see where we are going. The financial situation in Lebanon is not helping at all, we are lacking support. In other countries of the region they have government supporting them, with unlimited budget. Here we are all paying out of our pockets. As you know and people heard, we signed with Red Bull for product placement, and the relation is evolving.

Can you give us one good and one bad memory in Rally of Lebanon?

In 2010 I was second behind Roger but I stopped in Sourat. 2011 also I was behind Roger, Nasser and Dado having a good margin with the 5th. But I did a mistake and stopped in Zandouka.
